About

Hi and welcome to my little blog…
This blog is intended to provide you with ramblings and inner thoughts of the pulsating mush of grey matter that rests between my ears. It’s sometimes technical, sometimes helpful and sometimes completely bloody random. It’s a place where I can voice my concerns about the wedding photography industry, photography as a whole and possibly provide some tips and tricks to other would be wedding photographers out there across the globe, all fighting over the same couple!
A little about myself:
I’m a former technical sales consultant, and web design sales manager who took up photography again having been a tad disheartened with the technology back in ’96. Kodak at the time were at the front when it came to consumer digital camera systems, however the computers needed for post production weren’t able to cut the mustard. Which for me, was wildly frustrating, so I left it and went on to other things.

My mug shot...

However some 10 years later, I took up an SLR (Canon) and ran with it. I couldn’t put the bloody thing down, though my entrepreneurial spirit took over and I just had to turn this into a business. I set about reading everything to do with photography and the businesses around it. I tried landscapes, portraiture, modelling shoots and the like, and really didn’t enjoy those. Though I did shadow a good few wedding photographers and watched intently how they went about the art. Then that was it, I was hooked! I’ve even worked as a Staff Press Photographer for a weekly newspaper.

So with a greater understanding of the technical side of my gear and a creative eye, I set to work developing my own style of photographing weddings. It transpires I’m a more free flowing, less stilted where possible (Mum’s still love those formal shots) and I’ve grown the business into a very successful venture. I even teach this stuff now, imagine that?
My business is now primarily focussed on Weddings, and Commercial Product photography, that’s what I enjoy. I don’t believe that photographers can photography anything, it’s just not possible. You have to find your passion and develop that within the fields of photography. Something which I’ve embraced fully, and something my customers appreciate.
Thanks for reading this waffle, and if you want to see some more of my work, please check out my website!
